1. 1Dial the Emergency Number

   If you have no mobile phone credit: Dial 111 (Toll-free emergency hotline).
   If you have phone credit / calling from abroad: Dial +675 303 1000.

2. 2Provide Your Location First

   The emergency call taker's primary objective is to get help on the way immediately.
   State your exact location clearly before anything else:

   Provide landmark descriptions (e.g., street name, village name, market area, nearby church, or school).

   If calling on behalf of someone else, make sure you know their precise location.

3. 3Answer Immediate Triage Questions

   The call taker will ask key questions to assess life threats:
   What is the patient’s condition? (e.g., breathing status, consciousness, severe bleeding, chest pain).
   Is the environment safe for responders?
   What is your contact phone number? (This ensures they can reach you back if disconnected).

   Important: Answering questions does not delay the ambulance. While one operator speaks to you, dispatchers are already alerting and deploying the nearest ambulance unit.

4. 4Follow First Aid Instructions & Keep Your Phone Clear

   Stay on the Line: If the situation is urgent, the operator may stay on the phone to walk you through critical first aid (e.g., CPR, controlling bleeding, or positioning the patient).

   Keep Your Phone On: Do not block your line after hanging up. Control center staff or ambulance officers may text or call you back for landmark updates or status checks.

5. 5Coverage Areas & Service Fees

   Road Ambulance Coverage
   Active 24/7 Coverage: National Capital District (NCD), Central Province, Gulf Province (Kerema area), East New Britain (Kokopo, Rabaul, Gazelle), and Morobe Province (Lae, Bulolo, Huon Gulf).
   Aeromedical Evacuation: Available nationwide for remote or critical patient air transfers coordinated via the central operations hub in Port Moresby.
   Fees & Payment
   Public Emergency Services: Completely FREE for public patients facing genuine medical emergencies.
   Private & Non-Emergency Transport: Fees apply for private facility transfers or scheduled non-emergency transport to help sustain operational costs.
   Payment Methods:
